Dromoland Castle Wallpaper

The above picture was furnished by Thomas O'Briant of Kansas and is a sample of a Wallpaper for your computer.  The picture is taken of the Dromoland Castle in County Clare, Ireland.  About 200 yards to the right of the castle in this photo is where our Chief, The O'Brien resides.

You can down load the full size photo here.  Right click on the link and choose 'Save Target As'.

Save the picture to a location on your computer that you know you can locate again.

With your grapics program (Paint Shop Pro, Image Composer, Adobe PhotoShop, etc) view the saved picture.  Select 'File' and 'Save As' and change your .jpg to a .bmp and save it to your C:\Windows directory.

You can now open your control panel and select this photo for your computer background.  The photo will show up as full screen.

The O'Brien Family Tartan

O'BRIEN:

The O'Briens are one of the Great Dynastic families of Irish history.  They take their name from Brian Boru (941-1014), the greatest of the high kings.  After successes at Limerick and Cashel, he went on to achieve a decisive victory over the Vikings at the battle of Clontart (1014), although he lost his life in the process.  The O'Brien heartlands were in Thomond (North Munster), and they became earls of Thomond and Inchiquin.  They were famed as soldiers, a calling that Murrough O'Brien (1614-1674) practised so enthusiastically that he became known as Murrough of the Burnings.  The tartan is comparatively modern, owing its design to an Australian, Edward John O'Brien.

Right click on the above tartan and select 'Save Target As'.

Save the picture above to your C;\Windows directory .

Follow the instructions above to load the tartan as your wallpaper on your computer.
